Where do I begin? From the bottom of my heart, it’s truly rare that I like every element of a collection, and AZ ARAUJO OFFICIAL 2012 collection was by far not liked by everyone but loved. I had the wonderful honor of meeting AZ, and I tell you that he is absolutely one of the most sincere people you will ever encounter. Truly the best; I am going to miss our gatherings at David’s Café AZ! (You too Eddie, I didn’t forget). For those who aren’t aware of AZ Araujo, well let me make sure you do. AZ was born in Rio De Janeiro but grew up in the small town of Boquierao, on Paraiba, Brazil. He founded his Fashion House in 2008 and has never looked back. His designs have been worn and loved by Miss Universe, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Natalia Castro, Cynthia Bailey, and now can add to his long list “Cheetah Girls band member Adrienne Bailon, ‘Real Housewife’s of Miami’ – Adriana De Moura and the always gorgeous and wonderful "Marina" Telenovela Actress Aylin Mujica who looked stunning inAZ ARAUJO’s OFFICIAL collection.
The entire AZ ARAUJO OFFICIAL 2010 Collection was glamorous, refine, and powerful. It hit you in the face and left you wanting more. A.Z.’s Swimsuits had the essence of Brazil and the attitude of the New York based designer. Your colors screamed for attention, your men’s shorts were truly original, sporty, wearable for all types of men not just those who like to play it safe with trunks. The collection was timeless, edgy, and wearable. It’s actually funny, I recall speaking to A.Z. about his collection prior to his show and he pointed out something so true, that from that moment on you knew that this man is on his game from the gecko.
AZ said, "I draw inspiration from all aspects of life. I am inspired by memories of my time in Brazil with my family, the land, the sun, and the sea; by the amazing fashion and grandness of New York City; by movies; by architecture; by all that passes me everyday. From these shapes of life and images, I create, design and infuse all of these elements of inspiration into my collections. In turn, I share my vision of life and its amazing beauty with others" and boy was he right! Each and every one of his pieces kept hitting you with waves of ecstasy, and all you wanted was more and more. Thank you A.Z. for a phenomenal show.
